Relationship Issues

Have you reached a point where you are questioning where your relationship might be going, or have things changed and you aren’t sure how to get your relationship back on track? It is natural for relationships to change over time, but it can be very easy to slip into complacency and to start taking each other for granted.

Whatever you're going through in your relationship, it can be comforting to know that you're not alone. Everyone's relationships are different but sometimes we face similar issues.

Some relationships concerns are:

  • My partner drinks too much – what can I do?
  • How do you know they're 'the one?'
  • My partner and I have a large age gap between us
  • Are you ready to take your relationship to the next level?
  • We're not able to have children and it's affecting our relationship
  • Should we break up now or risk further heartache down the line?
  • My husband won't accept our daughter is gay
  • Am I in an abusive relationship?
  • I know I shouldn't stay in this relationship, but I feel trapped
  • I think my partner has commitment issues, will they change?
  • My relationship is an emotional roller coaster and it's draining me

Lots of people have an idea of what relationship counselling is and think that you only need counselling when things get really bad. If you are having problems in your relationship, acting early and seeking counselling may help prevent it breaking down.

Our counsellors are trained to listen and to help you to work out your own solutions to relationship problems. They don’t negotiate for you or tell you what to do. No matter what situation you face in your relationship, even if your problems seem trivial, we can help.
